China, China!
by Tom Gaylord
I have to say, the Chinese are learning the airgun business rather quick. The one thing they haven't mastered - yet - is how to rifle an accurate barrel in quantities for sporting airguns, but I may have an out-of-date opinion on that.
I'm looking at the new Tech Force 40 on Compasseco's website and, oh, my! It DOES look like a TX 200. We all know the Chinese are good at copying things, but have they now learned the lesson that guns also have to be accurate? If so, we are in for some real surprises!
I need to get one of these rifles to test for myself.

Tom,
let us know if the accuracy issue has been tackled yet. Also have seen problems with Chinese main springs.

John,
Chinese airgun accuracy is improving, though I think they still have a ways to go. They are almost up to Gamo now, in their better models. Their base models like the B-3 underlever are still a joke.
Their mainsprings are still pure dreck, which is why Compasseco installs Maccari springs every chance they get.
Now, there are several models of Chinese guns I haven't tested yet. The one that looks like a TX 200 looks very nice, and the copy of a Daystate Huntsman is said to be very accurate. So I could be wrong about these newer models. But what I have said holds true for the TF 99.

Hello Tom!
It is great to actually be able to message you directly, after reading most of your reviews, and airgun material.
You can say that I'm quite the fan! lol
Anyway, moving on to my question:
Have you heard of the Xisico XS-B26 and B26-2? They are an excellent copy of the Beeman R9 (I have the R9, so I compared the two). The internal parts are VERY similar. Even the Rekord trigger!
But it is a chinese airgun after all, and the internal parts are rougher and less polished than the German R9.
Nevertheless, the B26 is probbably one of the best spring piston airguns the Chinese have made to date.
Give it a try. The cost is more than half that of an R9. The B26-2 comes with a thumbhole stock!
Best regards,
Alan T.
Alan T,
I am testing both guns right now. The wood is better than I've seen in the past, and the gun's mechanism seems better, too.
The only day I had to shoot the guns was windy, so the best 40-yard groups I got were two inches. That wasn't a fair test, however, and I'm waiting for better weather for a retest.
Thanks for writing,
Tom
